Today, Renzhi and I went down to Bedok Green Primary School to give a one hour presentation with the intention to inspire the young ones on the possibilities of Information Technology and hopefully spark their interest in this field. It was an amazing experience and the kids were just so spontaneous. Not to mention that I was surprised to see how smart children are these days. The questions they asked, their intuitive and lateral thinking, the excitement was just so different from that of my time :) By the way, my time was almost 10+ years ago where the Internet was still a pretty foreign term, this is really a huge generation gap.
Anyway, the lab was extremely advanced in technology. MACs! Check out the photos:

This is a shot of me narrating my short story to the kids!
We gave a presentation on the short history of computers and also the telephone as a precursor to the Internet. We then rounded it off with an IDA iN2015 video. By the way, if you guys haven’t checked out the iN2015 video, do so right now. It is an awesome piece of art!
Oh yes, I must commend Renzhi on his ability to connect and keep the kids under control. He’s a natural with the crowds and I definitely have a lot to learn from him :)
This marks the end of TDM’s very first community service and it was a real fun one!
